Thomas Cook Airlines wins Europe’s Leading Charter Airline again
Industry peers and customers have voted Thomas Cook Airlines UK (MT) as Europe’s leading charter airline for the second year running at the World Travel Awards.
The award comes in the week it announced direct flights from Manchester to San Francisco in May 2017, cementing its position as the biggest carrier to the US from Manchester Airport.
Chief Airlines Officer for Thomas Cook Group, Christoph Debus, said: “In just four years we’ve moved from being a carrier sold only through our colleagues at the Thomas Cook tour operator, to being a largely online business selling more than 40% seat only capacity.
“We want to be the best leisure airline and this award is a vindication of our £100M investment in cabin interiors; training the best crew in the world; creating Premium class seating; pioneering pre-order duty free in the leisure market; and the addition of James Martin meals on board.
“We bring a great quality complementary experience to Thomas Cook’s tour operator customers, who remain our most frequent flyers, but our growth as an airline is clear. We have new routes from Manchester to Boston, Los Angeles and Tobago this year, and San Francisco from next May; to London Gatwick to Cape Town in December and we offer the best quality for money in our marketplace.
“I’d like to thank everyone at Thomas Cook Airlines, each of whom has had a part to play in winning this award.”
