EVA Air and Thai Airways Initiate Code-Share Agreement
Star Alliance members EVA Air and Thai Airways will begin code-sharing on 30 October, 2016. The carriers will use both airlines’ flight numbers on North America service and onward Taipei – Bangkok connections.
The co-share extends to all EVA-operated North America flights, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, New York, Vancouver, Toronto and, starting 3 November, Chicago. Both EVA and Thai Airways operate on the Taipei – Bangkok route and the co-share applies to all of these flights. Passengers can check schedules and book flights now at www.evaair.com and www.thaiairways.com.
North America is an important market for EVA and it is working to more fully develop the market’s potential. After it launches Taipei – Chicago service, EVA will offer 80 flights a week between North America and Taiwan, giving travelers the ease and convenience of more flights and seat capacity between the regions than any other airline.
EVA operates 27 Taipei – Bangkok flights per week and Thai Airways flies seven. Together, the two airlines will give passengers 34 weekly flights to choose from, providing more convenience, flexibility and itinerary choices.
This code-share agreement enables EVA and Thai Airways to combine resources to attract more North America passengers and grow bookings in Southeast Asia. It also makes it easier than ever for passengers to take advantage of EVA’s one-stop connections in Taipei and comfortably fly on to Thailand. The co-share strengthens North America and Southeast Asia markets for both carriers.
Since joining Star Alliance in 2013, EVA has steadily added more passenger benefits and conveniences through cooperation with other member airlines. Together, Star Alliance members serve more than 1,300 destinations in more than 190 countries. In addition to Thai Airways, EVA code-shares with Singapore Airlines, Air Canada, United Airlines, Avianca and 10 more airlines, extending routes and increasing frequency to give passengers seamless services to every corner of the world.
